Eli Lilly Canada adheres to the Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) Code of Conduct, as well as all laws, regulations and policies affecting our industry including those of Health Canada, the Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board (PAAB), Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) and other related organizations.

Lilly also operates a global Compliance and Ethics Hotline staffed by a third party organization, where employees can report an ethics or compliance concern (anonymously if they prefer) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Eli Lilly Canada Business Integrity Office (BIO)

Pharmaceutical companies routinely enter into contracts with physicians and other health care professionals who provide services as consultants, advisory-board participants, and clinical-trial researchers. These types of partnerships are an essential part of doing business and conducting medical research. In recent years however, these relationships have been under increasing scrutiny. Eli Lilly Canada has implemented an enhanced anti-corruption and transparency program called Integrity in Business and created a specific department, the Lilly Canada Business Integrity Office to help assure our stakeholders that our business transactions with health care providers are beyond reproach.

All business transactions between Lilly and health care providers are first analyzed and logged, and if appropriate, approved by our Business Integrity Office. The process helps to document the fact that all business transactions with our third-party physician partners are appropriate and legitimate, and that we are paying a fair-market or reasonable value for these services.

Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statement
Eli Lilly Canada’s commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) are aligned with Lilly’s values of respect for people, integrity, and excellence. All Lilly employees, visitors and contractors will be provided with a work environment consistent with the highest standards of occupational and environmental health and safety.

This overall policy will serve as the framework for HSE Programs. All programs, policies, and related roles and responsibilities will be based on relevant hazards, local regulations and Eli Lilly and Company HSE standards.

The Lilly Patient Support Program
Eli Lilly Canada is committed to delivering meaningful and appropriate health solutions that give patients the very best chance to benefit from our innovative medicines. We have a proud history of supporting patients in need. The Lilly Patient Support Program provides assistance to eligible patients who have been prescribed a Health Canada-approved Lilly medication, but who are unable to access it through either their own means or through public or private insurance.

Patients who have been prescribed a Health Canada-approved Lilly medication should inform their physician if they are unable to access the medication, and request the physician complete an application for assistance. Patients who would like more information about the Lilly Patient Support Program and the medications that are currently a part of this program should contact Lilly Canada’s Customer Response Centre at 1-888-545-5972.

Physicians should call 1-877-545-5922 to obtain the Lilly Patient Support Program enrolment form. To help manage assistance requests most effectively, this number is reserved for physicians only. Physicians are asked to have their license number when they dial. Once the application has been completed and submitted by the physician, the application will be assessed and the physician will be contacted. If approved, instructions will be provided on how the patient can obtain the medication.

The program has an allotted amount of medication available per calendar year. The Lilly Patient Support Program is carefully administered and managed to ensure that available medicines reach as many of those who meet the program’s criteria as possible.

Approved applications are for a specific time period and are monitored on an ongoing basis. An approval does not guarantee subsequent approvals or a continued supply of medication. Eli Lilly Canada reserves the right to make changes to the program as appropriate.
