Acclaimed musician and former American Idol in Toronto for a special performance for children with type 1 diabetes.

American singer and performer Crystal Bowersox will be in Toronto on August 31 ^st for a special event at SickKids, hosted by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Lilly Canada. Widely known as a contestant on American Idol, Crystal will speak to a group of children living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), before performing for them.

Crystal was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 6 and when she is not in the recording studio or performing, she is a tireless advocate for diabetes awareness, inspiring youth to overcome challenges and demonstrate that dreams can come true. Living with T1D is an ongoing challenge for children and their families, so role models like Crystal offer inspiration and encouragements during this difficult time.
