Therapeutic Area Grants

Lilly Canada’s therapeutic area grants program provides funding for not-for-profit scientific associations and other health-based not-for profit organizations that support excellence in disease awareness, scientific innovation and/or patient care.

We prioritize requests for support in the following scientific and therapeutic areas:

  • Cancer (breast, lung, thyroid, colorectal, diagnostics)

  • Diabetes

  • Immunology (dermatology, rheumatology)

  • Pain (migraine headache)

Types of Requests Supported:

Consistent with a mandate to promote excellence in disease awareness, education and scientific innovation, we support organizations whose overall objectives and specific projects align with the following:

  • Improvement in the quality of health care and health care delivery

  • Improvement in public health and patient care (e.g., disease awareness or prevention).

Types of Requests Not Supported:

  • Travel, accommodation and registration fees for medical conferences and seminars

  • Retirement dinners, graduations, class reunions, retreats

  • Any product or in-kind gifts, such as promotional t-shirts or pens, to auction or distribute for charitable purposes

  • Fundraising via gala events, golf tournaments, sporting events, teams, walkathons, dinners

  • Equipment, infrastructure or operating expenses and/or “bricks & mortar”

Due to the limited availability of resources, only a select number of recipients will be awarded grants based on the projects’ merit and alignment with one or more of the four therapeutic areas listed above.

Application Process and Questions:

We support requests originating in Canada. Please direct requests originating outside of Canada to the Lilly office in the country where the requesting organization operates
